Dr. Aida Todri-Sanial was the Keynote Speaker for the 2018 IEEE Workshop on Signal and Power Integrity.
Dr. A. Todri-Sanial gave the keynote speech entitled “Unsung Heros of Scaling – Interconnects on the Nanometer Regime”. This keynote speech focused on the impact of interconnects on circuits’ reliability, power-thermal-signal integrity, and overall energy efficiency. I discussed why the switching energy of current systems is far from the Shannon-von Neumann-Landauer limit and the role of interconnects. Then, an overview of novel interconnects materials and architectures is presented that have the potential to address the energy efficiency challenge.
