Sense and Compute with Oscillatory Neural Networks
In the AI-on-ONN project, we aim to explore if the oscillator, the computing element in ONN, can both sense and compute. This groundbreaking potential allows for direct sensing and processing of analog sensor signals, eliminating the need for analog-to-digital conversion. This novel sense-to-compute paradigm enables a seamless analog interface between sensors and ONN computing architecture, extracting information, making decision and taking action. Digitizing analog sensor signals for processing in current computing is energy inefficient and creates an enormous amount of data. By harnessing the ONN physical computing paradigm, AI-on-ONNwill revolutionize edge AI to bring energy efficiency, online learning and sensing-to-action.
